
Katherine Gibson | Royal Bank of Canada
Royal Bank of Canada’s interim CFO Katherine Gibson will take on the role permanently. Before being named interim chief financial officer in April, Gibson was senior vice president of enterprise finance and controller. Gibson joined RBC 22 years ago and has held a range of senior positions, including vice president of enterprise optimization and senior director of finance. She replaces Nadine Ahn, who was fired over an undisclosed personal relationship with another employee, which supposedly led to preferential treatment. Ahn has since denied the claims and said she was only friends with the employee and filed a case against RBC for wrongful termination. The bank has denied her allegations in the ongoing case.
Delphine Herve | Sephora North America
Delphine Herve was promoted to finance chief of beauty retailer Sephora North America, effective April 2025. Herve has worked at the retailer since 2014 and has been senior vice president of finance, FP&A for North America since 2022. Before that, she worked at Sephora’s parent company, luxury products group LVMH, as an internal auditor for its spirits division Moet Hennessy. Herve succeeds Christophe Le Boterff, who is retiring. Le Boterff has been Sephora’s CFO of North America since 2017.

Carolina Dybeck Happe | Microsoft
GE’s former CFO Carolina Dybeck Happe has been appointed chief operations officer at Microsoft. Dybeck Happe most recently worked at GE, where she was CFO and senior vice president from March 2020 until September 2023. She continued to work at the company as senior vice president where she helped complete its spin-off of GE Vernova, its energy infrastructure unit, in April 2024. Before GE, she worked at shipping giant Maersk, where she was chief financial officer, and she previously spent nearly 17 years at Swedish lock company Assa Abloy, most recently as CFO and deputy CEO.
Fareed Khan | Imperial Dade
Foodservice packaging supplies distributor Imperial Dade appointed Fareed Khan as chief financial officer. Khan most recently was CFO of JustFoodForDogs (JFFD), a role he has held since 2022. Before that, he held chief financial officer roles at Kellogg Company and US Foods, where he led the company’s IPO in 2016. Khan has also held CFO roles at Enjoy Technology, Parallel and United Stationers.

Mike Grisko | Aceable
Online learning company Aceable hired Mike Grisko as its new finance chief. Grisko was previously CFO and co-founder of Atmosphere TV, an ad-supported TV streaming service for businesses. Under his financial leadership, Atmosphere TV achieved a $1B valuation in its Series D financing in 2022. Griskoe was previously CFO of Chive Media Group and started his career in investment banking, specializing in M&A, capital markets and advisory roles with firms Moelis & Company, PwC and Lincoln International.
Lucas Montarce | Eli Lilly
Eli Lilly promoted Lucas Montarce to finance chief of the pharmaceutical compant. Montarce joined the company in 2001 and was most recently president and general manager for its Spain, Portugal and Greece hub. Montarce has held a range of finance leadership roles, including group vice president, corporate controller and CFO of Lilly Research Laboratories; vice president of finance and CFO of Lilly International; and vice president of finance and global CFO of Elanco Health. Montarce took over after its former finance chief Anat Ashkenazi left for the CFO job at Alphabet in June.

Mark George | Norfolk Southern
Norfolk Southern’s CFO Mark George is taking over as CEO. George has been CFO of Norfolk Southern for nearly five years. He joined the freight railroad operator in 2019 from Carrier where he held the same position. He earlier spent nearly 20 years in financial leadership roles at United Technologies and Otis Elevator. The company appointed Jason Zampi as acting CFO. The leadership change comes after the railroad’s board unanimously decided to terminate CEO Alan Shaw after an ongoing investigation that determined Shaw engaged in a consensual relationship with the company’s chief legal officer Nabanita Nag. Nag has also been terminated.
Robyn D’Elia | PedMed Express
PetMed Express, the parent company of PetCareRx, announced the appointment of Robyn D’Elia as CFO, effective September 16. D’Elia spent a majority of her career with Bed Bath & Beyond, holding various positions throughout her 24-year tenure there, including CFO from 2018 to 2020. Most recently, she was the CFO at Odeko, an operational entity for independent coffee shops, cafes and other retail businesses.
Troy Anderson | Kelly
Talent solutions provider Kelly hired Troy Anderson as its new CFO. Anderson most recently worked at the trade and technical school Universal Technical Institute where he was chief financial officer. He was previously vice president of global finance and corporate controller for Conduent, a business process services company. Anderson replaces Olivier Thirot, who is retiring. Once Anderson takes over on Oct. 14, Thirot will become a strategic advisor.

Denise Sterling | Core Scientific
Denise Sterling, CFO of bitcoin miner Core Scientific, will step down on May 1, 2025, or as soon as her permanent successor is named. The company has started its search process to find Sterling’s replacement. Sterling joined the company in May 2021 as senior vice president of corporate finance and was promoted to CFO in April 2022. Before joining Core Scientific, she was senior vice president of finance and FP&A at fintech Oportun, where she helped take it public. She previously worked at Visa for 23 years in several leadership roles including senior vice president of enterprise risk management and senior vice president of finance.
Timothy Cruickshank | HeartBeam
Timothy Cruickshank was named finance chief of the medical technology company HeartBeam. Cruickshank was previously a financial executive at medical equipment manufacturer ImpediMed for over 16 years and spent almost four years as its CFO. Cruickshank succeeds long-time CFO Richard Brounstein, who has been working in an advisory capacity since retiring in February
