Veteran Microsoft executive Michelle Chang will take over as chief financial officer of Zoom, effective Oct. 7. Chang has spent the last 24 years at the tech giant, most recently as corporate vice president and CFO of Microsoft’s commercial sales and partner organization. Before that, she held several leadership positions at Microsoft, including corporate vice president and CFO of Modern Workplace (including Office and Teams) and cybersecurity. Chang succeeds Kelly Steckelberg, who announced her resignation in August. Steckelberg will continue to serve in an advisory capacity until Zoom’s third-quarter results are announced.

Selim Freiha | Opendoor

Opendoor, an e-commerce platform for residential real estate transactions, hired Selim Freiha as its new finance chief. Freiha joins the company from Google’s parent company Alphabet, where he was vice president, leading corporate FP&A. Before that, he led finance for Google Commerce and Payments. Selim earlier spent 17 years at eBay in roles such as head of corporate FP&A, CFO of eBay Markets and vice president of investor relations. 

 

Sheamus Toal | The Children’s Place

Sheamus Toal, CFO and chief operating officer of the Children’s Place, will step down from his roles on Dec. 13. The children’s clothing company said the departure was not the result of any disagreement between Toal and the company concerning its operations, policies or practices. Toal, who has worked at the company for two years, will receive a separation payment of $2.2 million. Toal was previously chief financial officer of e-commerce retailer Saatva and he earlier spent over 16 years working at women’s retailer New York & Company in several roles including CEO, CFO and COO.

Marcus Sanford was appointed chief financial officer of PrizePicks, a daily fantasy sports operator. Sanford joins the company from video game developer and publisher Blizzard Entertainment, where he was CFO and oversaw finance and operations teams while also serving as deputy CFO to its parent company Activision Blizzard. He spent over a decade as a senior finance leader at Activision Blizzard and played a key role in transformational projects, including its sale to Microsoft. Sanford replaces Ari Koteles, who has been CFO since 2021. Koteles has been named to the newly created role of chief business officer.

Sandra Harris was appointed CFO and senior vice president of finance at footwear retailer Genesco, effective Oct. 7. She has previously held chief financial officer roles at interior finishing solutions provider Artisan Design Group and food storage container maker Tupperware. She earlier spent nearly 10 years at the global apparel and footwear company VF, where she worked across retail, finance, supply chain and information technology leadership, including as chief financial officer for direct-to-consumer, global supply chain and shared services. Harris succeeds Thomas A. George, who is retiring on Dec. 12.

Snack and food brand Chomps named Tim Bosslet as its first finance chief. Bosslet has worked at the company since 2019 as the company’s first dedicated finance hire. He was most recently senior vice president of fiance and was previously senior director of finance and vice president of finance. Before joining Chomps, Bosslet worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan and Houlihan Lokey. 

John Townsend | Ribbon Communications

Ribbon Communications hired John Townsend as the communications technology company’s new CFO. Townsend, who most recently was chief financial officer of Caribbean mobile phone network Digicel, will join the company on Nov. 1. Before joining Digicel in 2022, Townsend spent nine years at Verizon Communications as CFO for several organizations including Verizon Business, Verizon Consumer, and Verizon Wireless. Townsend earlier spent almost two decades at Vodafone with several regional CFO assignments. At Vodafone, he was CFO of the Verizon Wireless joint venture responsible for the company’s SEC reporting and investor communications. Townsend succeeds Miguel Lopez, who is retiring.

Siddharth Hariharan | Vast

Vast, a pioneering space habitation technology company focused on building humanity’s first commercial space station, appointed Siddharth Hariharan its first CFO. Before joining Vast, Hariharan was responsible for consumer tech investment banking at the financial advisory group Rothschild & Co., where he oversaw M&A transactions, IPOs, follow-on offerings and capital raises for mid- and large-cap companies. Before that, he spent 13 years at J.P. Morgan’s investment bank.
