S&P Global named Eric Aboaf as the credit ratings firm’s new finance chief. Aboaf, who will start in Feb. 2025, joins the firm from financial services provider State Street, where he has been chief financial officer for nearly eight years, as well as vice chairman since 2022. Before State Street, he was CFO for Citizens Financial Group and he previously held senior financial roles during his 12 years with Citigroup, including as treasurer where he managed the company’s $1.9 trillion balance sheet. Until Aboaf joins the company, Christopher Craig will continue as interim CFO.

Mark Hirschhorn | Amwell

Mark Hirschhorn was appointed chief financial officer of telehealth vendor Amwell, effective Oct. 21. He succeeds Robert Shepardson, who has been CFO since 2021. Hirschhorn has been chief executive officer of TapestryHealth for the last two years. Before that, he spent seven years at telemedicine company Teladoc Health, where he was CFO and chief operating officer before stepping down in January 2019 amid allegations of sexual misconduct and insider trading. Two years later he resigned as president and COO at virtual behavioral health company Talkspace after an internal review of his conduct at a company offsite.

Marc Hempstead was named finance chief of Swire Coca-Cola USA, the bottler for Coca-Cola and other beverage brands. Hempstead has worked at global conglomerate Swire Group since 2017 in a series of finance roles with increasing responsibility, including at Swire Pacific in Hong Kong, the Steamships division in Papua New Guinea and most recently with HAECO, its aircraft maintenance division, also in Hong Kong. Hempstead succeeds Andrea Kendell, who was promoted to president and CEO. Kendell joined the company as CFO in January. 

Sherri Luther | Coherent

Sherri Luther was named chief financial officer of Coherent, an engineered materials and optoelectronic components manufacturer. Luther joins Coherent from Lattice Semiconductor, where she has been chief financial officer since 2019. Before Lattice, Luther spent 16 years at Coherent, including as corporate vice president of finance. She previously held senior finance and accounting roles at Quantum, Ultra Network Technologies and Arthur Andersen.

Journal Technologies, a technology developer in the legal space, has hired Erik Nakamura as CFO. Nakamura most recently served as CFO of video game developer Orange Comet, where he will stay on as an advisor. He served as CFO at FlowFi prior to working at Orange Comet, and currently serves as an advisor for GOATs Entertainment and Digital Twins Network.

Lattice Semiconductor appointed Tonya Stevens interim CFO as it looks for a permanent replacement for former finance chief Sherri Luther. Stevens has worked at Lattice for the last five years, most recently as corporate vice president and corporate controller. Stevens earlier held finance leadership roles at several companies, including Intel and PwC.

Wealth management platform Osaic hired Kristy Britt as its new finance chief. Britt joins the company from Thomson Reuters, where she held several roles in financial leadership and strategic planning across the business, most recently as head of finance for the operations and technology organization. She replaces Jon Frojen, who left the company after almost five years as CFO to join Beacon Pointe Advisors in the same role. 

Sean Naughton | Indoor Active Brands

Indoor Active Brands, a platform company that focuses on indoor entertainment concepts, named Sean Naughton as finance chief. Naughton previously spent nine years working at CEC Entertainment, the owners of Chuck E. Cheese, most recently as vice president of strategy and financial planning and analysis. Earlier roles included vice president of FP&A at Taco Bueno Restaurants and manager of finance and supply chain of Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. 

Nancy Hedges | Astronics

Nancy Hedges will take over as chief financial officer of aerospace electronics manufacturer Astronics on Jan. 3, 2025. For the last 10 years, Hedges has been Astronics’ principal accounting officer and controller. Before that, she was director of accounting and external reporting at Dayco. She also has over 12 years of experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers in its accounting and business advisory services practice where she was a senior manager. Hedges succeeds David Burney, who is retiring.
