Mike Stepniak | Honeywell
Honeywell named insider Mike Stepniak its new finance chief to replace Greg Lewis, who is stepping down from the role. Stepniak is currently vice president and financial head for Honeywell Aerospace Technologies and will succeed Lewis after the company announces its results for 2024. Lewis, who has been Honeywell’s CFO since 2018 and has been with the company for nearly two decades, will become senior vice president of Honeywell Accelerator and a senior adviser to the CEO. Until the transition is complete, Stepniak will work as vice president of corporate finance.
Matt Schroeder | Rite Aid
Rite Aid named its CFO, Matt Schroeder, as the drugstore chain’s new CEO as the company exits bankruptcy. Schroeder joined Rite Aid in 2000 as vice president of financial accounting and has been chief financial officer since 2019. Before joining Rite Aid, he worked at Arthur Andersen as an audit manager. Schroeder replaces Jeffrey S. Stein who stepped down as CEO and chief restructuring officer in connection with its emergence from Chapter 11 protection.
Jean-Francois Mady | Polestar
Polestar named Jean-Francois Mady chief financial officer of the electric car maker, effective Oct. 21. Mady has over 25 years of experience in automotive finance and financial services leadership roles, most recently at Stellantis Group where he was senior vice president of global accounting operations and finance transformation. He has also held several leadership roles at PSA Group over his 22-year career at the automaker. Mady replaces Per Ansgar, who joined Polestar in Jan. 2024 as CFO on a transitional basis. Per will stay with Polestar to help with the transition and then return to his role as CFO of Geely Sweden Holding AB.
Sonalee Parekh | Asana
Sonalee Parekh will take over as finance chief of work management platform Asana on Sept. 11. Parekh joins Asana from RingCentral, where she has been CFO since May 2022. Parekh guided RingCentral through a time of rapid growth, overseeing a doubling of operating profit while maintaining double-digit revenue growth. She previously was divisional CFO and head of corporate development and investor relations at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Parekh succeeds Tim Wan, who has been CFO since 2017. Wan will remain with the company in an advisory position.
Tatsuro Omura | Mazda
Mazda promoted Tatsuro Omura to CFO of its North American operations. Omura was previously general manager of the business structure strategy department at Mazda Motor in Hiroshima, Japan. He joined the carmaker in 2005 and has held roles in product cost, profit management and corporate strategy and planning at Mazda Motor in Japan. Also during his time at the company, he’s held several finance roles at Mazda Motor Europe in Germany.
John Crawford | Paysafe
Payments platform Paysafe appointed John Crawford as its new finance chief. Crawford worked at FIS for nine years, most recently as executive vice president of strategy, M&A and venture capital. Before that, he held investment banking leadership roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns and in commercial finance at GE Capital. Crawford succeeds Alex Gersh, who will stay with the company in an advisory role to the chief executive officer.
Chris Taylor | Flashfood
Chris Taylor is the new chief financial officer of Flashfood, a food waste startup that helps retailers sell almost expired food at up to 50% off. Taylor was most recently vice president of finance and operations at shopping app ShopThing. Earlier, he was head of operations at GoBolt, a technology-driven warehousing, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery services provider. He also led logistics and scaled operations for meal kit service GoodFood.
Cassandra Hudson | StackAdapt
Multi-channel advertising platform StackAdapt hired Cassandra Hudson as its new CFO. Hudson was most recently chief financial officer of customer engagement software and integrated payments solutions provider EngageSmart. Before that, she spent 12 years at online backup service Carbonite in several roles, including vice president of finance and chief accounting officer and director of finance. She earlier held financial leadership roles at The Davenport Companies, RSM US and Henderson and Associates.
Christopher T. Young | The Weather Channel
The Weather Channel, owned by Allen Media Group, has hired Christopher T. Young as their newest CFO after the retirement of former CFO Bill Higgs. Prior to taking this role, Young was CFO and treasurer at the multilingual television network Entravision for over sixteen years, where he also had a short stint as interim CEO last year.
Jeff Sim | Curbio
Jeff Sim was named chief financial officer of Curbio, a home improvement company for real estate agents and their selling clients. Sim was previously CFO of photo printing companies District Photo and Snapfish, where he helped double the companies’ value through strategic acquisitions, financial restructuring, and a change management initiative. He earlier was chief financial officer of building products manufacturer American Forest Products and global investment firm GeoLogic Solutions.
